A daring portrait of the feminist electro-punk icon.

For 17 years, Marie Losier filmed the life and work of Merrill Beth Nisker, better known as artist, musician and queer feminist icon Peaches. Captured with a Bolex in Losier’s inimitable style, joyful, fragmented and emotional in a way that delivers a rush to body and soul, this stretch of time is tied into a magnificent knot of energy and movement in PEACHES GOES BANANAS

This intimate portrait offers a deep dive into the life of an inspiring, taboo-shattering artist. Discover Peaches’ electrifying concerts, her close bond with her sister and how her boundless energy, fearless exploration on and off stage has transformed every phase of her life into a captivating work of art.

Peaches is one of the most influential artists on the feminist music scene. She began performing in cramped basements, only to draw massive crowds to festival stages a few years later. Her success comes from radical, irresistibly catchy songs and electrifying performances full of irony and subversive eroticism. She’s made a name for herself by fearlessly shattering social stereotypes and taboos around sex and women’s roles in society.

On camera, Peaches talks about her family, flips through childhood photos, and shows us how she spends time with her boyfriend. This film is simultaneously a dynamic concert chronicle, a raw backstage report, and a home video capturing surprisingly ordinary moments in the life of an extraordinarily unique person.

The result is a sonic and visual ecstasy. Get ready—it’s going to be loud!
